Purchased for my 9 year old daughter, was a little difficult for her at first but with help from my wife they came up with a beautiful design and product. Has very easy instructions on how to create and design the fashion purse. Came packaged easy to open and very easy for our 7 year old to create. The adult is going to be the one putting this purse together and that is rather annoying. The instructions are a little confusing when folding and connecting the sides together. I feel like this is one of those projects where if you make several of these, you’ll know what you’re doing by the time you get to about the third or fourth one. Unfortunately, that means struggling through making the first one or two. There are parts of the directions that are good, and there are other parts of the directions where you kind of guess based on the pictures. I would definitely say that this is probably a parent/child project. This will require working together a lot. If the child is old enough to do the project on their own, the purse is probably a bit childish for the kid. The purse seems like it’s most appropriate for a child under 10 (maybe 12) years old. I feel like a kid would have to be at least 12-14 to even attempt this on their own. I got this for my niece, who is 5. She required a lot of help from me to get this put together, and she lost interest after a while, wanting me to complete the project on my own. Instead, we’ve ended up working on it a little bit at a time. As a heads-up to potential purse-makers, there are about 2-3 times as many pink pieces as white pieces. My niece wanted to make a pattern, switching back and forth between the two colors, and she was disappointed that she couldn’t do that. While this is a fun, cute purse, I likely wouldn’t get it again, mostly because it is a bit frustrating for a young child, and the directions are a bit confusing at points, even for adults. The end project, though, is cute.
