The Philadelphia 76ers have put their entire team in quarantine after a player tested positive for COVID-19 during Thursday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The team will reportedly remain in New York for Thursday night and undergo contact tracing.
The player who tested positive did not play in Thursday’s game, went to an isolation room immediately and later left the arena separate from the team, according to another report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Wojnarowski also reported that the Sixers learned of the test near the start of the game, but still played on.
Per Joe Vardon of The Athletic, the Nets will still fly to Memphis, where they are scheduled to face the Grizzlies on Friday. The Sixers’ positive test might also be of interest to the Washington Wizards, who faced the Sixers on Wednesday and are scheduled to face the Boston Celtics on Friday.
