But the UFC star says a WrestleMania appearance is possible.
Game of Thrones after all.UFC star Conor McGregor might not appear in
Despite recent rumors suggesting McGregor will reportedly have some sort of a cameo role in one of the two remaining seasons of the HBO show, the current UFC lightweight champion denied the rumors in an interview with the Good Times Network (via Entertainment Weekly). McGregor confirmed that he was indeed visited by people from HBO right after a fight about a potential role before the rumors began. But, he’s currently “not trying to be in show business, I’m trying to be in the fight business.”
“Come at me with a real number to fight again,” McGregor said. “So that was the only time I ever heard the [words] Games of Thrones.”
However, according to Fox Sports, the UFC champ is open to showing up at this year’s WrestleMania on April 2 in Orlando. While he isn’t ready to commit to anything, conversations are still ongoing.
“I’d love to go to that WWE and have a real knock,” McGregor said. “Let one of them have a real knock and see what’s what. We’ll see.”
With or without McGregor, Game of Thrones: Season 7 is still set to premiere in summer 2017.
