By Alex Osborn Bourne actor Matt Damon has revealed a few new details on what fans can expect to see in his return to Universal Pictures’ popular action franchise.
According to Damon, while Jason has retrieved his memories, he still has a lot of questions that need answering. “[Bourne] has his memory back, but that doesn’t mean he knows everything,” he told New York Daily News.
“It’s 12 years since Jason Bourne has been on the grid. So we have to answer the questions, Where’s he been? What’s he doing? What gets him going again? So once we solved all that, then we had a movie.”
Damon also noted that Bourne 5 will explore the political landscape of a “post-Snowden” world.
After stepping away from the franchise and turning the reigns over to Jeremy Renner for a spin-off entry back in 2012, Damon will return alongside director Paul Greengrass for Universal’s fifth Bourne film.
