Kyrie Irving’s night against the Clippers was cut short by a right knee sprain that kept him out of the second half.
The Celtics point guard scored 14 points in 14 minutes before coming up hobbling with just over four minutes remaining in the second quarter. The five-time All-Star appeared to suffer the injury while navigating several off-ball screens on defense.
Irving is averaging 23.8 points, 7.0 assists and 4.9 rebounds for Boston, which entered Saturday tied with Philadelphia for fourth place in the Eastern Conference. The former first overall pick underwent surgery on his left knee in April, 2018.
