INVINCIBLE: PREACHER’S SETH ROGEN AND EVAN GOLDBERG TO TURN ROBERT KIRKMAN’S COMIC INTO MOVIE
Invincible is being turned into a movie.Robert Kirkman’s long-running superhero comic book series
Skybound announced today that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will direct, write, and produce the film adaptation for Universal. Kirkman promises that Rogen and Goldberg are the perfect filmmakers for the project and the comic’s “surprising, edgy, shocking, and oftentimes blood-soaked story couldn’t be in more capable hands.”
Kirkman went on to say he’s “very confident this will be another superhero movie, in a long line of superhero movies that continues to prove that it’s a viable, thrilling genre that will keep people coming back to the cinema for years to comes.”
Invincible was first released in 2003 and follows high school student Mark Grayson, whose father is the most powerful superhero on Earth. In time, Mark inherits his own set of powers, and the story follows the struggles that come with being the son of Omni-Man and his responsibility to protect Earth.
There are currently no details regarding a release date or who’ll be portraying Mark Grayson, but Rogen and Goldberg said they “will not sleep until the movie is perfect.”
Last year, Kirkman announced he’s ending the Invincible comic book serieswith issue #144, which will release sometime this year.
