Fournette suspended 1 game for punching Lawson
The Jacksonville Jaguars will be facing yet another signficiant change to their offense this week.
Running back Leonard Fournette was suspended one game by the NFL on Monday for violations of unsportsmanlike conduct and unnecessary roughness, the league announced.
Fournette was ejected from Sunday’s 24-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills in the third quarter for throwing punches at defensive end Shaq Lawson, who was also thrown out of the game after punching back.
Fournette will be held out of Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. The Jaguars (3-8) are in last place in the AFC South and have lost their last seven games.
Jacksonville enters the contest with significant upheaval after firing offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and benching quarterback Blake Bortles for Cody Kessler earlier in the day.
