Bucks to acquire Holiday from Pelicans

Jrue Holiday will immediately upgrade the Bucks’ backcourt after a disappointing second-round playoff loss to Miami.

Milwaukee is doubling down on its commitment to winning both a championship and Giannis Antetokounmpo’s long-term favor.

According to multiple reports, the Bucks are finalizing a trade that will net them versatile guard Jrue Holiday from New Orleans in exchange for Eric Bledsoe, George Hill, three future first-round picks, and two additional draft pick swaps.

Holiday provides an immediate backcourt upgrade for Milwaukee, which fell well short of its championship aspirations with a second-round defeat to the Miami heat. With Antetokounmpo’s extension deadline looming, the Bucks swiftly made a move for one of the more coveted guards on the trade market in recent months.

A two-time All-Defensive team honoree, Holiday averaged 19.1 points, 6.7 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 1.6 steals while shooting 45.5% overall and 35.3% from 3-point range last season. The 30-year-old guard has averaged 19 points or better in each of the last three seasons.
